Hi, I’m the founder of Poppetpals, a one-person studio dedicated to turning pet memories into meaningful works of art.

I’m not a professional artist. I didn’t go to art school or have any plans to open a store. But I’ve always loved two things: drawing and animals. As a kid, I would spend hours drawing dogs, cats, and all kinds of animals in the corners of my notebooks. Our house was always full of fur, paw prints, and wagging tails.

Years later, I adopted Max, a goofy stray with a big grin who quickly became my shadow. One rainy afternoon, I thought of drawing a picture of my dog and posted it to my social media pages, just to record the little things in life. But a lot of friends started asking, “Can you draw mine too?” One friend turned into five, then ten, and suddenly I was spending my evenings drawing pets that I’d never met but felt familiar with.

What touched me most was not just that people wanted portraits, but why they wanted them.
Some people wanted to celebrate the arrival of a new puppy.
Some people do it to surprise their loved ones with thoughtful gifts.
But many are drowning in grief. One woman told me, “My cat died 5 years ago. I really miss seeing his face.” Those words have stayed with me.

Shortly after Max died, I painted a portrait of him and printed it on canvas. I hang it above my desk. Every time I see him, I feel comforted—as if he’s still with me, if not physically, then only in spirit. That moment made me realize: this is more than art. This is memory. This is healing. This is love, preserved.

And that’s how Poppetpals was born—not for commercial purposes, but to honor the pets who shape our lives.

Today, each portrait is created in my small studio—usually with a cup of coffee next to me and my portrait of Max on the table. Each piece is carefully crafted, printed on museum-quality canvas, and carefully packaged by hand. It’s with people who love pets just like me—no big factories, no shortcuts—because I believe something so personal deserves to be made with care.
